As she prepares for the release of Citadel: Honey Bunny, where she stars alongside Varun Dhawan, and is excited about this action-packed spy thriller directed by Raj and DK. In a recent interview, Samantha Ruth Prabhu praised her fellow actresses Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, and Kangana Ranaut for paving the way for women in the action genre.

In an interview with PTI, Samantha said, “I’m thrilled to have discovered a new facet and genre that excites me—action. Many actresses are diving into this arena; Alia is taking on action roles, Deepika and Katrina have always been involved in it, and now Disha and Kiara are joining the fray, while Kangana and Anushka have also made their mark. It’s incredible to see women take control.”

She further revealed that she has always dreamed of taking on a role akin to that of James Bond. “Who wouldn’t want to engage in exciting action and portray a spy? I think that’s on every actor’s wish list. James Bond is the ultimate role, so that’s definitely a given. As actors, we are all very excited. Performing in action scenes was exhilarating,” she shared.

Citadel: Honey Bunny is the Indian adaptation within the Citadel Universe. It follows Honey and Bunny as they embark on a mission to protect their daughter, Nadia.
